
Meet Gary Boswell
Gary Boswell is a dedicated public servant and current state senator representing the 8th District, which includes Daviess, Hancock, and McLean counties, since January 2023. A lifelong resident of Owensboro, Boswell brings deep roots in agriculture, business, and community leadership to his role in Frankfort.
Before his election to the Senate, Boswell served as a Daviess County Commissioner and built a successful career as a farmer, real estate developer, and small business owner. His local experience includes decades of involvement in workforce development and infrastructure advocacy. Boswell and his wife Meg have raised thier family in Owensboro, and his Christian faith plays an important role in his community engagement.
In the Senate, he serves on key committees including Agriculture (Vice Chair), Appropriations & Revenue, Economic Development, Natural Resources & Energy, and Veterans Affairs, focusing on policies that strengthen Kentucky’s economy, support rural communities, and expand opportunities for families and farmers across the region.
